If you answered ‘yes' to any of these questions, a Resource Worker at the Today Centre would like to help you.

One of the goals of the Today Centre is to being the services to you so that you aren't alone in searching for all the resources and support you need. Right here in the Today Centre we have various social workers from the City of Edmonton, officers from the Edmonton Police Service, support workers from Catholic Social Services, a nurse from the Victorian Order of Nurses, an outreach worker from the John Howard Society and a branch of the EPS Victims Services Unit. What will happen when I contact the Today Centre?

You will speak with one of our Resource Workers, who will explain the services we offer. The Resource Worker will listen to your story and try to answer your questions. If you want to receive further services, we will book an appointment for you to come in to the Centre. We like to meet people face-to-face because it allows us to get to know each other, but if you are not able to come in to the Centre, we can continue our work over the phone.

When you come in to meet with a Resource Worker, there are many options. Here are some of the things we might do:

• complete a risk assessment that helps you to understand how safe you are
• put together a safety plan
• talk about patterns in your relationships
• talk about the effect of family violence on children
• decide what community supports and resources might be helpful to you
• help you to access those supports

The services of the Today Centre are completely voluntary. You can choose to receive services from us and you can decide to stop at anytime. Our services are confidential unless you agree that we can share your information to help you further.
