This workshop is ideal for health care and medical service providers or front-line agency staff who want to better understand these aspects of family violence, or would like a refresher beyond the basics.
Topics Include:
types of abuse and cycle of violence
family violence stereotypes and misconceptions
power dynamics and coercive control tactics
brain injury, medication abuse, reproductive abuse, pregnancy risks
effective responses to family violence
barriers to leaving or accessing supports
charting for safety planning
A tour of our centre is offered after the training to anyone who wishes to participate!
