  • Join us on Friday, June 7, 2024 at our 2nd Annual Illuminating Hope Garden Cocktail Party at The Lodge at Snow Valley. Join us for an evening of appetizers, cocktails, SYC beer tasting, caricaturist, metal-bending, mingling, music, and most importantly, personal stories of hope from survivors of family violence. You don’t want to miss out on this evening out (which makes a great date night or friend’s night out) to learn more about family violence, get involved in supporting the cause, and making memories together!

Family Violence Prevention

This is an introductory, 2-hour workshop for anyone who would like to learn the basics about family violence or as a refresher. Participants will examine types of violence, understand the role of power and barriers to support, gain skills to better respond to disclosures, and information on community resources.

family Violence Across the LIfespan

Family Violence Across the Lifespan is an engaging training that gives service providers a basic understanding of family violence in four sessions. Participants will learn about types of abuse, how to dispel common family violence myths, understand barriers, safety planning, and how to respond to disclosures. Learning from community guest speakers, participants will also examine the impacts of family violence on children, seniors, newcomers, and those in 2SLGBTQI+ relationships. This training aims to identify, respond, and support clients with organizations and the community.

REALTalk Workshop: Break the Cycle of Violence by Sagesse & The Today Centre

Offered routinely by Sagesse REALTalk faciliator Carolyn, and The Today Centre Educational Specialist Sarah, these workshops can be hosted at any workplace online or in-person.

REALTalk encourages individuals in any situation or relationship to simply have everyday REAL conversations that approach family violence with a perspective that Recognizes experiences, Empathizes with victims/survivors, Asks the right questions, and Listens with respect.
