With Heartfelt Thanks

As we look back on 2025, we are filled with deep gratitude for the many individuals, organizations, and partners who stood alongside The Today Centre throughout the year. Your generosity showed up in powerful and practical ways, helping ensure that victims and survivors of family violence were met with care, dignity, and support when they needed it most.

From in-kind donations of essential items like diapers, hygiene products, toys, and household goods, to workplace campaigns, school initiatives, and long-standing partnerships, every contribution helped strengthen our ability to respond to urgent needs and provide meaningful support. These acts of kindness extended far beyond the moment they were given, offering comfort, stability, and hope to individuals and families during some of their most challenging times.

This blog post is our opportunity to recognize and thank the donors and supporters who made an impact in 2025. We are honoured to share this gratitude publicly and to celebrate the community that continues to make our work possible.

Thank you for being part of this important work. We could not do it without you.

TELUS Community Ambassadors

The Today Centre is overwhelmed with gratitude as TELUS Ambassadors Bonnie, Patti, and Dave have once again generously donated a vast array of essential items to support our clients. This year's delivery was particularly impressive, with a truckload of goodies including baby lotions, diapers, hygiene products, and cozy hand-knitted blankets and dolls. The ambassadors also brought a trove of entertainment items such as books, toys, crayons, and the highly sought-after TELUS Critters, featuring an adorable menagerie of plush animals. But that's not all - they also presented the centre with $200 worth of gas gift cards, providing a practical and thoughtful gesture to help our clients during the holiday season. The Today Centre is truly blessed to have such dedicated and compassionate friends in Bonnie, Patti, and Dave, and they extend their heartfelt thanks to TELUS and their ambassadors for making this holiday season one to remember.

United Way Campaign

United Way campaigns serve as a cornerstone of community support, uniting employees and residents in a collective mission to raise critical funds and resources for those in need. By mobilizing workplaces and individuals, these campaigns focus on addressing pressing issues such as poverty, education, and health, typically spanning one to two weeks and adaptable to virtual, in-person, or hybrid formats to maximize participation. Through dynamic events and activities, they not only generate essential financial support but also cultivate social responsibility and community solidarity. The funds are channeled to local nonprofits, fueling programs that provide lifeline services to vulnerable populations and strengthening the overall community structure. As one of The Today Centre’s major funders, we deeply value United Way’s unwavering support for our initiatives, particularly in aiding victims of family violence, ensuring their critical services make a lasting impact on those who need it most.

Imperial Strathcona refinery

All of us at The Today Centre wish to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff in the Products and Chemicals Division at the Imperial Oil (ESSO) Strathcona refinery for a truly generous in-kind donation recently received to support the vital needs of our clients—victims and survivors of family violence. After reaching out to understand the most critical needs, the ESSO Strathcona refinery team used a targeted list provided by our Family Violence Team and purchased every item on it, resulting in a substantial contribution that included essential items like hygiene products, diapers, and various household goods. We are profoundly thankful for Imperial’s extraordinary thoughtfulness, kindness, and heartwarming compassion in choosing to help provide our clients with some well-deserved dignity, unequivocally demonstrating that partnerships like this genuinely make a tangible difference in the challenging lives of those we serve.

AECOM

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Hunter and her colleagues at AECOM for selecting The Today Centre as their charity of choice during the United Way campaign. Their kindness and generosity have made a significant impact on our organization, and we are truly grateful for their support. Hunter took the initiative to reach out to us and ask about the specific needs of our clients, and after receiving a list of essential items, she shared it with her team. The response was overwhelming, as they ended up purchasing almost every item on the list. We are thrilled to have been chosen by AECOM and are excited about the prospect of a long-term partnership with their team. Once again, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to Hunter and everyone at AECOM for their kindness and generosity - thank you all so much!

Wawanesa Insurance

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Wawanesa Insurance for their incredibly generous donation of in-kind items as part of their United Way campaign. The Today Centre was fortunate to have our board member, Gail Kesslar, invited to speak about our organization's mission and work, and we were thrilled when she returned with a wonderful collection of much-needed items that will be passed along to our clients in their time of need. We feel truly grateful to have been chosen by Wawanesa Insurance during their campaign, and we appreciate the warmth, kindness, and generosity that their entire team has shown us. Their thoughtful donation is a testament to the company's commitment to giving back to the community, and we are so thankful to have partners like Wawanesa Insurance who care about the well-being of our clients. Thank you again to the entire Wawanesa Insurance team for your kindness and support - it means the world to us!

The Today Centre Client Christmas Basket Program

Since 2021, The Today Centre has collaborated with numerous individuals, organizations, and companies to bring gifts of hope to clients in need during the holiday season. Our Family Violence Specialists worked closely with their clients to create wish lists for each family member, including their pets. These lists were then shared with partners, who generously contributed to making Christmas wishes come true. The Today Centre would like to extend its gratitude to its long-standing partner, The Seven80, for their fourth consecutive year of support. Ador, his family, and the entire team at The Seven80's five Edmonton stores came together to fulfill a client's family wish list, demonstrating remarkable kindness and generosity. Additionally, The Today Centre thanks Subaru West Edmonton for their ongoing support, and the Telus Community Board Grant for providing funds, enabling us to provide essential items and spread Christmas joy to those who need it most. The Today Centre is deeply appreciative of the support from all its partners, which has made a significant difference in the lives of its clients during the holiday season.

Happy Dreamers Daycare

The team at Happy Dreamers Daycare, led by the incredible Vicki, has once again demonstrated their remarkable generosity and dedication to giving back to the community. For the second consecutive year, the staff and parents of the daycare have came together to collect an impressive array of essential items, including hygiene products, diapers, toys, and more, which will be distributed to clients of The Today Centre. This thoughtful gesture will have a lasting impact, extending far beyond the holiday season, and bringing joy and comfort to those who need it most. The Today Centre is deeply grateful for the kindness and partnership of Happy Dreamers Daycare, and we are thrilled to have such a loving and compassionate team as part of our community. Their selfless efforts have made this holiday season truly special, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to Vicki and everyone at Happy Dreamers Daycare for their unwavering support and generosity.

École La Trinité

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our new friends at the École La Trinité in Stony Plain for their incredible generosity in donating a vast array of essential items to our clients. The school's 'Giving Tree' initiative, which involved the kids, parents, teachers, and staff, collected an impressive assortment of goods that will bring joy and comfort to those in need well into the New Year. The donated items include a wide range of baby essentials such as onesies, bottles, and diapers, as well as hygiene products like shampoo, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. Additionally, the school provided an array of delightful toys, including a dump truck, books, and stuffed animals, which are sure to bring smiles to the faces of our clients. The school also showed their thoughtfulness by including warm accessories like scarves, mitts, and toques, as well as hot chocolate to help brave the cold winter days. Moreover, they even considered the furry members of our clients' families by donating pet treats. We at The Today Centre are deeply grateful to everyone at the École La Trinité who contributed to this remarkable effort, and we thank you for your kindness and compassion in making our clients feel loved and cared for.
