An interactive exploration of Family Violence impacts and needs across sectors, for Service Providers supporting those experiencing DFV.
When: Thursdays, October 16 AND October 23 (Workshop registration includes BOTH days)
8:00am-4:00pm each day

Where: The Today Family Violence Help Centre (17724 102 Avenue Northwest, Edmonton, AB)
Topics Include:
empowering participants to recognize and effectively respond to family violence
learn to recognize the various types of abuse and the cycle of violence
examine the role of power dynamics and coercive control
challenge family violence stereotypes, stigma, and other barriers to family violence supports
delve into unique needs and barriers as they may be experienced by those at vulnerable life stages (children, seniors), as well as members of often marginalized communities (Indigenous, Sex & Gender Diverse, Newcomers)
build confidence in offering empowering support to those experiencing family violence
learn about available community and workplace resources
With Guest Experts, activities, discussions, and case study built into the core of our Intro to Family Violence training, this workshop will help service providers develop their skills in supporting clients experiencing family violence. No prerequisite training or background required, it is open to anyone who is interested in getting more comfortable and familiar with this work.
